About Us
Reading is the cornerstone of your child's future and the key to success in both school and life. Founded by Jena Collins, M.A., The Literacy Room offers private one-to-one tutoring in-person or via Zoom. We specialize in reading, dyslexia, all K-12 subjects, high school math, Spanish, test prep, college essays and applications, as well as professional educational assessments. Come meet us for a free consultation, and together we will chart a course for your child’s success.
Our Programs
The Literacy Room offers programs for students with dyslexia and other learning challenges, for those who need one-to-one private tutoring, and academic support for college-bound students. We specialize in literacy as well as all K-12 subjects, including IEP support, test prep and college application essays.

JENA COLLINS
Jena Collins, MA, is an educational therapist and the founder of The Literacy Room in Ojai, California. Her passion to promote literacy spans 24 years of teaching students in both public and private settings, as well as presenting numerous workshops and trainings on literacy for school districts, educators and parents. She worked for the Ojai Unified School District for 17 years as a classroom teacher and dual immersion bilingual specialist and continues to hold a California multiple-subject teaching credential.
